Appointment of Laura Mackie as Chair and Executive Leader of Bright Hope

The trustees of Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire are pleased to announce that from 2nd September 2024, Laura Mackie will be taking up the role of Chair and acting as executive leader for the whole charity.

Laura has been a trustee for several months and has worked with the charity over the years leading on the Long Covid recovery programme and more recently our Way Back to Wellness service, which she will continue to lead.

Laura has considerable, commercial and not-for-profit experience at both executive and non-executive levels.

Initially, she will be engaged on a six-month contract to lead the charity through the process of implementing its strategic plan and as such, is keen to collaborate with local business’ and stakeholders, to develop sustainable ESG partnerships and funding.

This is an ambitious move which the trustees are convinced is required to maintain and progress the charity into the future. Bright Hope has a good mix of long standing and newer trustees, who are all passionate about the charity and its work.  They, along with the staff and volunteers, will all work to ensure the continuity and development of our much-needed support services.

The appointment of Laura will give us a new direction and lead us into the future, ensuring we use our fantastic building to its maximum potential.

Laura can be contacted at: chair@brighthope-nwl.org.uk or telephone on 07917 101415.
