Donation of laptops by Access Foundation

Recently we were delighted to receive 5 laptops, donated by the Access Foundation.  Based in Loughborough one of the key aims of the Foundation is:

“To support organisations who have as a key objective the mitigation of the digital divide, by making computing facilities, support and/or learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people.”

Our plan is for guests at Bright Hope House to be able to find out how to:

  • Keep in touch with family via zoom
  • Shop online if they find it difficult to get out and about themselves
  • Explore the possibilities of online banking
  • Play online games and access YouTube videos

The photos below show the first guests being given their first go using the new laptops.  For some of them it was quite some time since they had used the internet.  Any guests who access our services at Bright Hope House will be able to use the laptops, which are located in a dedicated room.  Staff and volunteers will always be on hand to help them.

We are very grateful to the Access Foundation for their support.
