Fantastic support from local HSBC branch
9th August 2024
Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire was thrilled to recently receive a grant of £22,488 from HSBC UK’s Derby & Nottingham Market team, which will make a lasting impact to the local area we support.
The grant has enabled us to purchase a range of IT equipment for Bright Hope House, giving our guests the opportunity to learn how to safely access the internet, manage finances and communicate with family and friends, decreasing digital isolation.
Care Services Manager for Bright Hope, Matt Buckley said, “The feeling of isolation (both physical and digital) is a big issue for many, so being able to attend Bright Hope House and access our new IT room will have a significant positive benefit to many.”
Part of the HSBC UK grant will also be used to support our Day Care Service at Bright Hope House, specifically providing a significant contribution to the cost of the two-course hot meal, prepared on site and served to the 20 people who attend on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The project funding was awarded by HSBC UK as part of the ‘Supporting Our Communities’ programme which supports local branches to get involved with helping local initiatives.
Paul Holbrook, Local Director, Derby & Nottingham Market said, “Getting involved in our local community and helping more people build their financial health is incredibly important to us. Our local branch team worked closely with Matt and the Bright Hope team to secure funding, and we’re incredibly proud to be able to support the important work of Bright Hope – making a real difference in the lives of individuals, families and carers.”
The grant has already enabled further partnership work to take place. The Leicestershire County Council’s ‘Go Learn’ team have also announced that two Multiply courses will take place at Bright Hope House in September, specifically tackling ‘Safe Internet Use’ and ‘Household Budgeting’, using the IT equipment provided.
