“From the minute I stepped through the front door for a look round, I was welcomed in and treated like part of the team. They took the time to understand what I was good at and gave me meaningful things to do. It gave me a sense of purpose again and was the reason i was able to get myself back on track. I volunteered with Bright Hope for around five months and genuinely loved my time there. Everyone was supportive, kind, and down to earth, and it felt like being part of a family rather than just turning up to volunteer.

A year on, I’m doing really well and expecting my first baby. I honestly feel I owe Bright Hope a huge amount for helping me get my life back on track”

“Bright Hope is special to me as it helps so many different types of people with different needs in the local community. As soon as I walked in I was made to feel welcome by everyone and it’s been a long time since I’ve felt that way”

I didn’t know where the kindness had gone in the world – and I found it all here at Bright Hope.”

“I came to Bright Hope after a series of bereavements at a time I felt low and emotionally exhausted. From start to finish, I felt genuinely cared for and understood. My therapist created a safe , compassionate space where I could slowly make sense of my feelings and begin to heal. While the sadness is still there I now feel stronger and more hopeful. The sessions have helped me regain perspective and meaning in my life.

I am truly grateful for the warmth, kindness and support I received, - it has made a real difference”
