Coalville Community Fun Run
Sunday 7th June 2026 at 10am
Coalville Community Fun Run is back for 2026! Choose between a 2km or 5km route and enjoy a fun, flexible event that welcomes everyone — from competitive runners to families and first‑timers. You can even come in fancy dress if you want to add an extra bit of fun.
Whether you’re pushing for a quick time or taking it easy, you’ll cross the finish line to a well‑earned goodie bag and plenty of smiles. With no chip timing this year, it’s all about enjoying the run and having a great morning out.
Please note the Snibston Colliery Park parking area is available for disabled spectators and the 2k course is wheelchair accessible. The 5k route has two narrow gates which would preclude wheelchair access.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I confirm that you have received my registration and it has been processed?
You will receive an email with your tickets confirming your entry. If you do not receive this within two days of submission, please send an email with your name and address to info@brighthope-nwl.org.uk
How do I register on the day?
The registration desk will be in the main car park and will be open from 9.00am. Please bring electronic or paper copy of your ticket(s) to receive your race number. Race numbers provide a record of your entry to the event.
Will my time and position be recorded?
No, the ‘Coalville Community Fun Run 2026’ is a fun community event for all the family, not a race. No times or positions will be recorded and no prizes given
Can I change from the 2k to the 5k course (or vice versa) on the day?
Yes, we ask you to indicate your chosen course for planning but you can select which course to take on the day
Can I enter on the day of the event?
If there is spare capacity then we may consider accepting entries on the day (there may be an added cost). However, the only way to guarantee your entry in this event is to sign up in advance as once we hit our limit we will close entries
What car parking will be available on the day?
We would recommend that local residents walk to this event where possible. However, car parking facilities are available on-site and are subject to normal parking fees (£3 for full day)
What Toilet/Changing Facilities will be available?
Toilets and baby changing facilities are available in the Colliery Cafe. Unfortunately, there will be no entrant changing or baggage facilities available so we advise that entrants arrive ready changed in their run/walk outfits
Can spectators come along to the ‘Coalville Community Fun Run 2026’?
Yes, spectators are very welcome. There will also be an opportunity for those wishing to support the charities but who are unable to run, as we will also be accepting donations on the day
What else will be there be to do on the day?
The Colliery Cafe will be open as normal, serving food and drinks. Snibston Colliery Park has a large outdoor play area for children. We expect each of our chosen charities to be present to hand out information. We will also offer stalls to other organisations and businesses
Are both 5k and 2k courses suitable for all abilities?
We welcome all abilities to take part in the event and the 2k course is accessible to all. Note that the 5k course has narrow gates which make it unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users
Why do I need to register under 5s when their entry is free?
All under 5s who register will receive a race number and a medal when they finish the course. We want them to feel part of the event
Can I take part with children in a pushchair or buggy?
This is very much a family event, and we welcome young children or babies to join in with the aid of a pushchair or buggy. We strongly advise that you do the 2k course as the 5k course has some gates which are too narrow for most pushchair and buggies. Please bear in mind that parts of the route may be a little bumpy! For safety reasons, all entrants with pushchairs/buggies or younger children will be asked to start from the back
There will be a lot of people around, what happens if my child gets detached from me?
Children under 13 cannot run or walk the event alone, they must be accompanied at all times. All of the event marshals will be briefed on our lost child procedure, and we have a dedicated Lost Child Officer based at Event Control near to the Colliery Cafe to deal with any incidents
Can my dog complete the course with me?
We are happy for dogs to come along. For safety reasons we ask that dogs are kept under control and on a short lead while on the course, with one dog per adult only
What charities will benefit from the event?
This is a charity event organised by Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire. Net proceeds from this event will go to local charities and good causes as the main beneficiaries
Can I raise additional sponsorship to further help support the chosen charities and good causes?
Yes. You can create a just giving page or email info@brighthope-nwl.org.uk for more information. Your additional support would be hugely appreciated by our supported charities and good causes
I would like to support this event and the chosen charities but am unable to run, can I make a donation?
We would be delighted to accept your support! You can make a donation online by clicking make a donation. We will also be holding a collection at the finish line
How will my data be used?
When you enter the ‘Coalville Community Fun Run 2026’ the organisers (Bright Hope) will collect and retain relevant personal data (including contact details). This information will only be used to facilitate your entry into the event, used to communicate event information to you and to facilitate the organisation of the event.
